Full Circle
Touring participatory installation artwork
First commissioned by O N C A Gallery for solo exhibition
Are you snowed under with waste..?
‘Full Circle’ simulates snow by filling a greenhouse full of reclaimed ‘hole-punches’ (the tiny, circular pieces of paper collected by hole-punchers that we usually discard). It’s a reflection on consumption, the vast amounts of waste we generate and the impact that this has on our fragile environment.
To provoke a shared sense of responsibility many of the hole-punches are made from used, un-recyclable wrapping paper (i.e. anything shiny with a high foil content) which was sourced over the festive season from the Brighton community.
This participatory action connects feelings of self-expression and excitement with sustainability and resourcefulness instead of waste, giving things we normally throw away a new lease of life.
Full Circle has been featured at ONCA Gallery, Festival of Thrift, Saatchi Art and more.
